As a new student this year that came from a small school, this school is…. Kinda careless. The rules the teachers say aren’t really followed nor do most teachers care. The bathrooms will ALWAYS smell like piss and there’s no bathroom maintenance. I haven’t really heard of bullying but the school is filled with over 2k people so it would be hard to find. The crowding during the switch from classes is absurd, the hallways are so crowed, the school gives 5 minutes to get to the next class but that isn’t enough time. If you have any accommodations, you won’t have permission for all of them like having extra time. My teachers don’t explain things properly and when I ask for clarification they just repeat the same thing and when I ask for them to explain in a different way they said I’m talking back? I gave 3 stars but realistically it would be 1-2 stars, if I was a parent, instead of sending my child here, I would send them to a smaller school. This wasn’t all of the problems with this school, there’s more like the drug problems here but that’s entirely different.

Pretty great experience except for Ms. Sparks class; worst time of my life! She made me hate my favourite subject since grade 7, physics. Literally changed career paths because of her I could be in engineering rn if I wasn’t so traumatized.

I graduated from this high school in 2024, and overall, I would say that it was an extremely rewarding experience. The school offers International Baccalaureate (IB), which is a rigorous academic program for those who would like a challenging and internationally recognized education. In this program, students meet other high-achievers who are equally committed and looking to succeed. However, this can lead to increased competition and a tough and unsupportive environment for those who struggle with grades. However, without the IB program, I might never have discovered my passion for economics. The teachers, Mr. Fitz and Mr. Olbricht (though I had Mr. Olbricht for the course and Mr. Fitz for my Math 30-1 class), were incredibly supportive and made the content both engaging and interactive. If you're looking for a school where you can focus intensely on your studies and aim for a prestigious university, Churchill is a strong choice. On the other hand, if you're more interested in parties and social gatherings, this may not be the place for you.

This school is an absolute mess! They're always students fighting very violently anywhere around the campus, sometimes even vaping in the bathroom, doing drugs, and doing other really weird, inappropriate things. Teachers are insanely rude and tend to forget who you are, and any parents thinking about bringing their kids here, I repeat, do not bring them here. It's really that bad!

The school sucks, especially the foods teacher, Ms Neatby. She doesn't pay attention to how you actually work and just grades you on how much she likes you. If you directly complain to her and ask her to change your grades or attendance she says she'll change it, doesn't change it, and won't ever mention it again. Terrible teacher, don't take foods.

I graduated from SWC in 2021, so my perspective may be a bit outdated but I will give me two cents.
I can’t speak towards all staff/faculty but the teacher I will mention is Ms/Mrs. Jones (she may be married by now).
I had her for my grade 11 comp sci class. I want to warn everyone who will be taking her class; be prepared to be talked down to, ignored, neglected and possibility other behaviours. She makes racist comments towards students and gaslights them. I’m also being as literal as I can when I say this but she really never teaches, referring to standing in front of the class and lecturing. She never did that(besides on a few occasions where her higher ups had to tell her to)
She would just sit at the back of the room by the teachers desk. And ironically she would call students out for being confused and reaching out to peers.
She basically wanted us to self teach from the textbook, on top of assignments and quizzes due every week. She was barely helpful when it came to helping students with questions. It so bad that there were petitions created by multiple students to get her fired. Unsurprisingly nothing happened, at least when I was still there.

Some may think I’m over reacting but thats fine

I strongly advise that if that her or any teacher for that matter, treats a student inappropriately. Say something, or stand up for yourself.
I regret not speaking up when she asked one Asian kid if he spoke English… all because he had asked a question about a problem she had mentioned 20 minutes ago.

The school is alright, but the English department is hot garbage. Some teachers are fine, but most should not be teaching. One in particular is Ms. Hill. The feedback--if you get any--is absolutely terrible and she overall grades you based on how much she likes you. She also grades unreasonably hard, but that can be said for most English teachers anyway. I strongly suggest switching teachers if you happen to get her. If you can't, you absolutely must stay on her good side and absolutely must do things the way she wants if you want a chance at doing somewhat alright. Otherwise, she will make your time in English hell.
