We booked the HeLa Staff to help us with a rock climbing/rappelling experience at our Church Youth Camp at Kootenay Plains last week.

99 girls ages 11-18!! And they were FANTASTIC. They helped us organize rotations every morning and afternoon for 3 days. Never once did I question their safety protocols or skill. One of our adult leaders, an avid climber himself, mentioned how impressed he was with the staff - not only as far as their equipment and safety plans were, but also their instruction, their kindness and their ability to connect with the Youth. They were easy to communicate with, confirmed we had all our waivers and documents in place (safety minded), and then were also compassionate in working with other groups who were wanting space on the rock wall as well.

They even brought homemade cookies to share with the girls! An added extra special touch!

We were all very impressed and the rock climbing/rappelling activity was a highlight for MANY of our girls - their favorite part of camp!

I would highly recommend their staff - they not only are experienced in their outdoor wilderness skills, but also in their compassion and talent in working with youth. Thank you HeLa staff!!! ?

I’m from Calgary and have rented canoes from Hela for five river adventures over five years on the North Saskatchewan near Rocky Mountain House. My partner & I hit pause on our canoe trips as we were raising two young kids over the past 7 years. This past summer we rekindled our love affair with canoeing and brought our kids along to experience it alongside with us. It was AMAZING!! The kids absolutely loved being on the river and it was a real treat for them to experience wilderness camping for one night on the river bank.

With Hela’s canoe rentals, & shuttle service we simply met their amazing staff at the river & they took care of the rest! They had boats, pfd’s throw bags, bailers, paddles and everything else ready to go when we arrived. On day two we were greeted with big smiles at the take out point where their staff collected and loaded the gear onto their truck/trailer.

They offer affordable rentals and can be contacted for private trips as well.
Hiking, biking, canoeing, school programs, private programs, you name it!
Staff are highly certified and will take care of your safety if you book a program. They will give you the info you need to plan a trip if you would rather just rent boats.

You see passionate, returning staff year after year. It's a place that you keep going back to!

I had amazing experience with hela ventures i was there with alendele school trip , whole team got my respect. Accommodations are just fabulous there lots space , lots different games good for kids and adults. highly recommend, i really appreciates your work . food is just amazing good meals , snacks i ll be there on soon cant wait to see u guys.

hated this place, absolutely traumatic experience. I went here for a 3 day camping trip with my school and was ostracized from the group and seperated from both male and female cabins because I was trans. I was forced to stay in a small cabin by myself and wasnt allowed to have anyone come into my cabin for a visit neither female or male, and while everyone was having a super fun regular camping experince with friends, I sat there in my cabin alone at night for 3 days and cried my eyes out. Along with that a camp counselor got mad at my friend for not eating even though she had an eating disorder and procceded to tell her he would stand over near the kitchen and watch her eat and then just left. I absolutely hated this place and hope that something has changed since ive last gone.
