A must-see if you're in the area!

We took the boat to the small island of the lighthouse (which is already pretty cool), but the visit to the lighthouse itself was incredible. It's the tallest in Europe, and the tallest in the world if you only count proper lighthouses 🙂

Two very competent and friendly guides explained the lighthouse in detail and answered all of our questions. Thank you for this great experience.

Clear water and very nice view from the top. The stairs are rather easy to climb (about 380 of them) and it takes about 10 minutes if you do it at an easy pace. Bring your water or snacks as there’s nothing at the top. There us a small shop near the bathrooms, but not many choices. So you’re better off bringing your own stuff 😇

We booked a combo boat trip plus lighthouse ticket and we had roughly one hour on the island, which I'd say was somewhat too short given it was a nice sunny day and the whereabouts were stunning. Anyway, the trip was smooth and we felt safe (traveling with a 2year old) and the lighthouse was breathtaking - quite literally 🙂 The climb was preceded by a succinct presentation by the guide downstairs. It sure is a lot of stairs (and no internal wall, mind you!) but it was definitely worth it.

I'd say it's not for those who are not up to walking😆 there's 300 something steps and no lift to go to the top! It's the tallest lighthouse in Europe. the tour guide speaks French.. so yeah... I dont understand anything😔.. even in the boat ride... no english😊 it's a nice view though and there's tables at the foot of the lighthouse so you can bring snacks and eat there... not sure how much was the boat ride and entrance as someone paid for us..

For not french speaking people: way overpriced. Boattrip is 18 Euro per Person for less than a 20 minute ride.
During covid 19 times: would not do it again. Boat was filled to the last seat. Masks were worn, but distance was in no way kept.
The port at the island is a building site at the moment. People were pretty lost when we got there because noone knew how to leave the building site at get to the green parts of the Island.
We just had one hour at the island which is not enough time to enjoy the special scenary and climb the tower. Seems like they want to make even more money by making you come again. The place itself is nice but not worth the charge they take.

The tallest lighthouse in Europe (397 steps) offers a great view over Finistère's beautiful coastline. The boat trip to and from the small island is very nice.
